UCPA’s Dr. Lewis Harpster featured on abc27’s Good Day PA

Joe Brittain, an active volunteer with the Special Olympics, visited his family doctor for a routine physical the day after Thanksgiving in 2018. His doctor’s office contacted him after the appointment because his PSA levels were high.

Dr. Lewis Harpster of Urology of Central Pennsylvania treated Joe’s prostate cancer through a number of treatments. Watch below to see their story and how Joe is doing now. (This show was broadcast on November 7, 2019, with UPMC Pinnacle’s Hillman Cancer Center.)

Men, Advocate for Your Health – Get a Prostate Cancer Screening

Prostate cancer is the most common type of cancer diagnosed in Pennsylvanian men, but most men don’t advocate for their health or seek the screenings that may save their lives.

The event will be held on Thursday, October 17, from 6 – 8 p.m. The event will take place in Urology of Central PA’s offices located at 100 Corporate Circle, Suite 100, Camp Hill, PA 17011.

Join us for open discussion about coping, adjusting and problem solving, as well as a forum to share your experiences in an atmosphere of respect and sensitivity.

Meetings are designed to be inspirational, informational, educational and to provide emotional support for those who have recently been diagnosed, are undergoing treatment, or have completed treatment.

Urology of Central PA Offers New Men’s Health Clinic

Urology of Central Pennsylvania’s Dr. Lewis Harpster will offer patients a new half-day Men’s Health Clinic, beginning the afternoon of Monday, November 4, 2019. Referring physicians are encouraged to send patients who would benefit to the new clinic. 

The Men’s Health Clinic will focus on Male Sexual Health, specifically: 

·       Erectile Dysfunction

·       Ejaculatory Dysfunction              

·       Peyronie’s Disease

·       Hypogonadism (low T)

·       Male Urinary Incontinence

A rep will meet with interested patients to explain various treatment options in depth prior to meeting with Dr. Harpster. The rep will be onsite to assist with the clinic and answer questions. UCPA offers insurance verification assistance to patients.

2019 ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk Surpasses Goals, Raises $1 Million Over 12 Years

When UCPA’s Terry Vennell and Cindy Nelson arrived at City Island on Friday, September 20, for the ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk Harrisburg, they knew it would be a special night. The event chair duo, along with other UCPA staff, have helped to plan the Harrisburg ZERO Run/Walk for the past twelve years to fight against prostate cancer. This year they reached some special milestones.

After 12 years, the Harrisburg ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk reached the $1 million raised mark! All funds raised benefit ZERO – The End of Prostate Cancer who provides screenings, co-pay assistance, research and education to men across the nation. This year’s event raised over $140,000.


Annual Senior Citizens’ Expo Hosted by Rep. Mark Keller to Feature UCPA

Urology of Central PA is pleased to participate in Representative Mark Keller’s Senior Expo on Friday, September 27, 2019. The event will be held at the Family Life Center, 27 West Shortcut Road, in Newport, from 1 – 4 p.m.
